Connect2Surrey's 2024 Review: Celebrating our Achievements

As we bid farewell to 2024, we’re reflecting on a year filled with achievements, community support, and collaboration. At Connect2Surrey, we’re proud to have made a positive impact both professionally and personally, ensuring we continue to support Surrey County Council and our wider community. 

Recognised at the British Recruitment Awards 

This year, Commercial Services Group Recruitment Division (formed of a number of brands including Connect2Surrey), were honoured to be named finalists in the prestigious British Recruitment Awards for: 

• Public/Third Sector Recruitment Agency of the Year 

• Recruitment Campaign of the Year (for our impactful Save for Summer campaign). 

These nominations underscore our commitment to providing innovative recruitment solutions and delivering meaningful results for the communities we serve. 

Celebrating a Rising Star 

We are especially thrilled to announce that Carren Flanagan, our talented Recruitment Trainer, won the Rising Star Award at the British Recruitment Awards. This accolade highlights Carren’s dedication, expertise, and the difference she has made in empowering individuals and strengthening our team. 

Supporting Our Community 

In January, we began the year by giving back to those in need. Our team came together to donate £135 worth of essential food items to the local foodbank, Loveworks, in partnership with the Reigate and Merstham communities. 

The donations included staples like tinned fruit, rice, pasta, and more, delivered directly to Loveworks’ main warehouse in Redhill. Loveworks provides emergency food provisions and works to prevent the recurrence of food poverty, even growing food in their community allotments. We were proud to support such vital work and play a small part in making a difference. 

Building Stronger Connections: The Agency Forum 

In August, we hosted an Agency Forum at our Reigate offices, bringing together agency supply chain partners within the Qualified Social Care market. 

This event provided a valuable opportunity for our partners to meet directly with the Hiring Manager community at Surrey County Council. It was a chance to build stronger relationships, gain deeper insight into the council’s needs, and align recruitment efforts for frontline roles. Events like this highlight the importance of collaboration in ensuring the best outcomes for the council, our partners, and, ultimately, the community. 

Looking Ahead to 2025 

As 2024 comes to an end, we’re grateful for the achievements we’ve celebrated and the connections we’ve strengthened. From awards to community contributions, it’s been a year to remember.
